Peanut Butter Pie (Yes, Seriously)

This recipe from Pioneer Woman is as good as it sounds. Peanut butter pie with an Oreo crust. As advertised, it is incredibly rich, but very, very delicious.

You barely need any ingredients to make this pie. Just Oreos, creamy peanut butter, Cool Whip, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and butter. And no, you don't need as much butter (1 pound) as I have pictured. I just have huge packages of butter, courtesy of Costco.

Maybe if you are lucky you will discovery two magical Oreos in your package like I did. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture, but these two Oreos have one of the sandwich cookies backwards! I've eaten a lot of Oreos in my day, and I have never seen this before. Perhaps They are getting lax in their quality checks or something.

And this is what your lovely pie will look like. Only the crust needs to be baked, the pie filling sets by sticking it in the fridge. So if you love peanut butter and chocolate and are looking for a decadent dessert, this is something I highly recommend.

  2. Sounds like a plan. Now I even have two pie dishes to accommodate the appropriate number of Thanksgiving pies.

  3. I was just thinking--this is a recipe from "Pioneer Woman"? Evidently this pioneer woman has some anachronistic stuff in her cupboard???
