What a Hunk

We got this hunk of watermelon at the farmers market for 75 cents.

And it made the best "salad" I've had in ages. I love watermelon. It's so stereotypically summery. We've had it a few times this summer, but this was by far the best one we've gotten. Kinda makes me upset we only bought a quarter of it. Maybe next week we'll cough up the whole $3.

  1. Try tossing watermelon, balls (or cubes) of mozzarella cheese, some fresh basil, and reduced balsamic vinegar for a refreshing summer salad. I also add some salt and pepper because I like my watermelon a bit salty. You can also added some lime juice for acidity.)

  2. Yum! That sounds amazing. That would make a real watermelon salad instead of just a watermelon "salad." I'll have to try that sometime.
