Eastern Medicine

Okay, so this isn't really Eastern medicine, but it's about as close as I've ever come to experimenting with it. I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon this magic elixir, but it is amazing. Yogi Tea makes a tea called "Throat Comfort," and it does exactly that. It isn't really a tea in my opinion, because it contains no tea leaves. Instead it contains licorice, fennel, cinnamon, orange peel, clove, black pepper, and lots more of those types of ingredients. Sounds gross, but it actually tastes a bit sweet. And because it's not tea, you don't have to worry about how long the tea bag soaks. I'm all for laziness when you are feeling under the weather.

You don't drink this for the taste though; you drink it because it has the ability to cure any sore throat. Forget the cough drops, those things are disgusting, and you have to eat them all day long. Usually I can just drink a cup of this in the morning and my sore throat disappears halfway through the cup. They sell this stuff at lots of places, though usually I get it at Whole Foods. If you're the type of person who gets sore throats, pick up this stuff at the store and keep it on hand. You will be thanking me later!
