Ilet Pinel

When you have your own private pool, outdoor bath, and a view of the ocean from your deck, something has to be pretty good to pull you away from your villa.  Well, I think I may have found something worthy.  Ilet Pinel is a tiny island off the coast of St. Martin that hosts a beautiful beach, great views, and a few restaurants to boot!

I promise it isn't as scary as this picture looks, but you take a "ferry" over to Ilet Pinel from St. Martin that takes about five minutes.  They run on island time, so you can't exactly count on them leaving at 2:30, but you are pretty confident you'll eventually get a ride where you want to go.

We emailed a day in advance to reserve our umbrellas and beach chairs.  This meant we got front row.  I'd rather have a few of the ocean than a topless sunbather, but that's just me.  $15 for two chairs, an umbrella, and two free drinks.  Sounds like a pretty good deal to me!

I was so in love with this little private island that we may be going back on Friday.  The hardest part of my day will be deciding whether or not I should get bacon and fried onions on my burger again.

Hopefully on Friday I'll remember to reapply sunscreen to the areas of my body where the sunscreen got rubbed off on the ride over.  Ouch.
